After the 2023-24 travel hockey season, Bourque was invited to try out with the Lady Flames and made the U19 girls Tier I team, becoming one of very few Maine girls ice hockey players to accomplish the milestone.

“We are excited to have Kaylyn on the Lady Flames team. Kaylyn will be a huge asset. She has great speed and high level stick handling skills,” said Monroe, head coach of the Minuteman Lady Flames.

Bourque is from Benton, a small town in central Maine. Her high school career started with the Winslow/Gardiner/Erskine/Lawrence/Messalonskee/Brewer Black Tigers. She led the entire state in scoring, and was named to the All-Conference team her first two seasons.

She led the Gladiators in scoring before transferring to Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, Maine. While with the Huskies, Bourque has led the team in scoring and the team made the semifinals of the 2024 Vaillancourt Conference Tournament and was named to the All-Conference Team, First Team.

In addition to her success at the high school level, Bourque has played for the Maine Gladiators and most recently the Casco Bay Mariners U19 team for the past two seasons, including her first year on the team, when she was 16 years old. After playing in the 2024 National Tournament Bourque has a recruitment video and website at KaylynBourque.com as she continues to get contacted by college coaches from across the country.

On a national level, Bourque was selected to play on the 2022 New England District All-Star team and has participated in the New England Girls Festival, NDC Camp and 29th Annual Major Showcase along with other top ice hockey players in the country.

This past season, Bourque was also the first girls ice hockey player from Maine to sign a NIL partnership with Rezztek, a hockey stick tape company. She is compensated for using the product and making posts on her social media accounts.

Bourque will now play for the Minuteman Lady Flames in the New England Girls Hockey League (NEGHL). The team’s home rink is the New England Sports Center, a state-of-the-art facility with six NCAA Regulation surfaces centrally located in New England.
